Take Switch With You
Heading outside the U.S.? Don’t leave your connection back in the nest.
With international roaming, you can use your Switch Mobile line while traveling in eligible destinations. Depending on the destination and roaming option, you may be able to:
- Make and receive calls
- Send and receive texts
- Use mobile data
Roaming availability, coverage, rates, and included services vary by destination.
Before You Travel
Adding roaming is easy:
- Log in to your Switch Mobile account.
- Select “Shop Add-Ons.”
- Check the roaming options available for your destination.
- Choose the option that fits your trip and complete your purchase.
Once activated, follow any instructions from your phone to connect to the local network.
A little planning before you fly can help you avoid surprises once you land.
What Does Roaming Cost?
Roaming rates depend on where you’re traveling and how you use your phone, including calls, texts, and data.
Check “Shop Add-Ons” in your Switch Mobile account before your trip to see available options and pricing for your destination.
Where Can I Roam?
Many popular travel destinations are supported, including:
- Canada and Mexico
- Europe
- Asia-Pacific
- Latin America
Availability varies, so always check your specific destination before you pack your bags.
Want to Keep Your Data in the Nest?
If you don’t want your phone using cellular data while you travel, you can turn off Data Roaming in your phone’s settings.
iPhone: Settings → Cellular/Mobile Service → Your Switch line → Data Roaming → Off
Android: Settings → Network & Internet/Connections → Mobile Network → Data Roaming → Off
Google Pixel: Settings → Network & internet → SIMs → Your Switch line → Roaming → Off
Turning off data roaming prevents cellular data usage while roaming, but it does not necessarily turn off other roaming services or remove a roaming option from your Switch account.
